WAUKESHA, Wis. - Junior outside
Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed a team-high 13 kills to lead the Carroll University women's volleyball team to a 22-25, 25-23, 25-20, 25-23 victory over Concordia University of Wisconsin in a nonconference dual meet to begin its own Pioneer Triangular at Van Male Athletic Complex on Saturday afternoon.
It was the 10th consecutive dual victory of the season for Carroll, which overcame one-set deficit and improved to 14-4 overall.
Junior outside hitter
Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) followed with nine kills and 10 digs for the Pioneeers, who generated 12 kills with a .175 hitting percentage and committed only five errors in the decisive final set.
Tied 23-23 in the fourth set, Carroll answered the pressure-packed challenge with back-to-back kills by Mueller and Mrotek to seal a victory.
Senior middle blocker
Karley Wolf (Roselle, Ill.) collected eight kills and two blocks for Carroll, which won in four sets for the seventh time this year. Junior middle blocker
Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) had six kills and three blocks.
Senior defensive specialist
Trystam Carr (Charlottesville, Va.) had four service aces and 11 digs, sophomore middle blocker
Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) had four blocks with juniors setter
Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) and
Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) each adding 20 assists.
Junior outside hitter Megan Meyer had a team-high 16 kills for Concordia of Wisconsin, which entered the weekend hovering just out of the Top 25 in NCAA Division III but suffered its first loss and dropped to 11-1 overall.
