Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) in the fourth quarter as the Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to Hope College 19-1 in a nonconference game at Van Andel Soccer Stadium on Thursday afternoon.
It was the third road loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-8 overall following the final game of its Michigan spring trip.
The Pioneers were outscored 12-0 in the decisive first half, including four unanswered goals in the opening quarter.

Abe Escarda (Sammamish, Wash.) and freshman
Thomas Atella (Crystal Lake, Ill.) split time at goalkeeper for Carroll, combining for 14 saves.
Junior attackman Max Kuiper, junior attackman Rocco Mularoni and sophomore midfielder Luke Elder each scored three goals for Hope, which improved to 4-1 overall.
The Flying Dutchman outshot Carroll 62-7 in the contest, maintaining a 33-4 shot-on-goal advantage.
