WAUKESHA, Wis. - Sophomore attackman
Airik Ranjo (San Diego, Calif.) contributed an individual season-high four goals, fielded five groundballs and caused a turnover but it wasn't enough as the Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to University of Dubuque 18-8 in a cold, blustery College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Schneider Stadium on Saturday afternoon.
It was a conference season-high goal total for Carroll, which dropped to 0-3 in the league standings and 0-12 overall.
The Pioneers trailed 7-4 at the end of the first half but were outscored 6-1 in what became a decisive third quarter - propelled by three momentum-shifting goals within the opening two minutes.
Junior defender
Ian McClintock (Reno, Nevada) followed with two goals for Carroll, which was outshot 57-36 - including a 34-18 shot-on-goal margin.
Senior attackman
Paul Kerchberger (Deer Park, Ill.) and sophomore attackman
Cordell McNamara (Waukesha, Wis.) each added a goal.
