Box Score CLAREMONT, Calif. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to Chapman University 25-21, 20-25, 25-20, 25-20 in the first round of the season-opening Pacific Coast Classic held at Pomona-Pitzer College's Rains Center on Friday morning.
The challenging two-day nonconference 30-match tournament, being held at Claremont-Mudd-Scripps, Pomona-Pitzer and the University of La Verne, is scheduled to feature 15 collegiate programs from throughout the country.Â
Senior outside hitter
Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) generated 10 kills, 14 digs, four service aces and two block assists for Carroll. Senior outside hitter
Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed 10 kills, five digs and three blocks.
Tied 14-14 in the decisive fourth set, Chapman answered with an 11-6 run to seal a victory.
Junior middle blocker
Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) followed with nine kills, seven block assists, five digs and an ace for the Pioneers. Senior outside hitter
Sydney Wilkins (Portage, Ind.) had seven kills, 11 digs, three block assists and an ace.
Senior setter
Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) collected 23 assists, 10 digs and two aces for Carroll. Senior setter
Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) had 13 assists and 13 digs. Freshman defensive specialist
Emily Konop (Oregon, Wis.) added 21 digs.
Sophomore outside hitter Jessi Lumsdsen finished with 20 kills, 10 digs and an ace to lead Chapman.
