Carroll struggles to maintain momentum in road loss

Pioneers fall to UW-Platteville in nonconference dual

PLATTEVILLE, Wis. - Senior middle blocker Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) contributed a team-high 10 kills but the Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to the University of Wisconsin-Platteville 20-25, 25-18, 25-22, 27-25 in a nonconference dual meet at Williams Fieldhouse on Wednesday night.
It was the fourth loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 5-4 overall.
Senior outside hitter Cassidy Mrotek (Manitowoc, Wis.) and senior outside hitter Sydney Wilkins (Portage, Ind.) each followed with five kills for the Pioneers, who registered 11 kills with a .259 hitting percentage in posting an opening-set victory.
Senior outside hitter Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) collected four kills and seven digs, freshman defensive specialist Emily Konop (Oregon, Wis.) had seven digs and senior setter Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) added 13 assists.
Sophomore outside hitter Olivia Kudronowicz finished with a meet-high 14 kills, 10 digs and three aces for UW-Platteville, which earned its second straight home-court dual victory to improve to 4-2 overall.
