Pioneers earn sweep to begin Red Hawk Invitational

Box Score RIPON, Wis. - Senior outside hitter Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) contributed a team-high nine kills and three blocks as the Carroll University women's volleyball team swept Beloit College 25-16, 25-18, 25-14 to open the Red Hawk Invitational at Ripon College on Friday evening.
It was the third sweep of the season for Carroll, which improved to 6-4 overall.
Junior middle blocker Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) followed with eight kills, seven blocks and a service ace for the Pioneers, who generated 36 kills, 35 assists, eight blocks and a .310 hitting percentage in the nonconference showdown.
Senior outside hitter Sydney Wilkins (Portage, Ind.) finished with six kills, 16 digs and an ace while freshman middle blocker Sofia Camacho (Chicago, Ill.) chipped in three blocks. Senior setter Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) added seven digs and 19 assists.
Junior outside hitter Evan Laun-Smith had 10 kills, 12 digs, two aces and two assists for Beloit, which dropped to 7-5 overall.
