Carroll begins final day of Red Hawk Invitational with sweep

Pioneers defeat Marian to remain unbeaten in two-day competition with 3-0 record

RIPON, Wis. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team swept Marian University 25-19, 25-20, 25-22 to begin the final day of the Red Hawk Invitational at Ripon College on Saturday afternoon.
It was the fourth nonconference dual sweep of the season for Carroll, which has won five of its last six and improved to 8-4 overall.
Senior outside hitter Kylie Mueller (Fox Lake, Ill.) finished with a team-high 11 kills and four blocks to lead the Pioneers, who remained unbeaten in the two-day invitational with a 3-0 record. Senior middle blocker Erika Dunnam (Shawano, Wis.) contributed seven kills with senior setter Emma Przeslicke (Evergreen Park, Ill.) collecting five kills, three blocks, two service aces and seven assists.
Junior middle blocker Rachel Noonan (Crystal Lake, Ill.) followed with five kills, five blocks and a service ace for Carroll, which generated 35 kills, nine blocks, 32 assists and showcased its mental toughness by committing only nine errors in the competition.

Freshman defensive specialist Emily Konop (Oregon, Wis.) had 13 digs, freshman setter Kelly Reynolds (Plainfield, Ill.) had 11 digs and 10 assists and senior setter Jennilyn Joy Cave (Bolingbrook, Ill.) added 12 assists.
Senior outside hitter Sara Komosa finished with 11 kills, three blocks and two aces for Marian, which dropped to 3-9 overall.
