NAPERVILLE, Ill. – Vanessa Uitenbroek of Carroll University women's indoor track and field has been named the CCIW Women's Track and Field Field Student Athlete of the Week for her performance last weekend.
 
Uitenbroek, a sophomore thrower, broke the Carroll record in the indoor shot put, a record that stood since 2014. Uitenbroek's throw of 13.86 meters beat the record by 33 centimeters, or 13 inches. Uitenbroek also collected a fifth-place finish in the weight throw all at the Ripon Winter Open on December 4. Uitenbroek's shotput mark leads the CCIW and all of Division III.
