Kenosha, Wis. – The Carroll University Pioneers women's track and field team competed at their second event of the season at Tarble Arena on Saturday. The women finished in first place over Wheaton, scoring 143 points with seven first place finishes.
In the track events,
Lexi Elegbede-Peer took home two first place finishes in the 55 meters (7.44) and 200 meters (27.55). The Pios outscored Wheaton 17-4 in the 55-meter and 13-9 in the 200-meter sprints.
Aliee Hogan and
Alivia Rass took home the first and second place finishes in the 3000-meter run, collecting 12 points together. The Pios collected five points in the 4x400 meter relay race led by
Abby Brinkman,
Abbey Casey,
Alli Spitzer, and
Hannah Bouwkamp.
In field events, the Pioneers collected 16 points in both the high jump and pole vault events, led by
Sydney Halversen (first, 1.45-meter high jump) and
Jessica Mueller (first, 3.30-meter pole vault).
Josie Eberle led the points for the women in the long jump with five out of the 12 points collected, Eberle landed a 4.92 jump in her first attempt.
Vanessa Uitenbroek (11.98-meter shot put) and
Morgan Davister (14.10-meter weight throw) finished with first place finishes in their events. The throwers collected 19 points in the shot put and all 21 points in the weight throw.
The Pioneers will take another week off before a third event held at Carthage on February 27
th.
