WAUWATOSA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's track and field team placed third at the Wisconsin Lutheran Early Bird Invitational at Raabe Stadium on Friday afternoon.
It was the first official competition of the long-awaited outdoor season for Carroll.
Vanessa Uitenbroek won the discus with a distance of 39.88m (or 130-10) and claimed a victory in the shot put 11.78 (or 38-7.75) to lead the list of top individuals for the Pioneers.
Maddy Blaedow followed with a victory in the 3,000-meter run, clocking in with a time of 11 minutes, 48.27 seconds.
Emily Uitenbroek added a victory in the hammer throw with a winning distance of 52.53m (or 172-4).
Other top-eight individual performers were:
Morgan Davister, second in discus (38.41 or 126-0), fourth in shot put (11.15m or 36-7) and fifth in hammer throw (39.13m or 37.78);
Holly Reynolds, second in shot put (11.36m or 37-3.25) and seventh in hammer throw (35.73m or 117-03);
Julia Kolton, second in long jump (4.33m or 14-2.50);
Lily Stemper, third in 100 hurdles (18.40);
Natalie Dresang, third in 1,500 (5:24.61);
Jamie Pankratz, third in hammer throw (32.95m or 42.77);
Cate Gudaitis, fourth in discus (35.63m or 116-11) and fifth in shot put (11.06m or 36-3.50);
Megan Brisbois, seventh in discus (32.26m or 105-10) and eighth in hammer throw (35.63m or 116-11);
Erika Dunnam, sixth in shot put (10.80m or 35-5.25) and eighth in discus (29.59m or 97-1);
Aliee Hogan, seventh in 1,500 (5:44.35) and
Alivia Rass, eighth in 1,500 (5:45.19).
