WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to North Central College 23-1 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin game at Schneider Stadium on Wednesday night.
It was the second consecutive home-field loss of the early season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-2 in the conference standings.
North Central, 2-1 in conference and 8-1 overall, outscored the Pioneers 15-0 in the first half.
Josh Kovach scored off an assist from
Airik Ranjo with 13:16 remaining for the Pioneers, who were outshot 90-17 (including a 50-8 shot-on-goal margin).
Spencer Lautner contributed a team-high seven ground balls, Ranjo had four ground balls and
Ethan Dillon won three face offs for Carroll. Kovach,
Zach Mehrtens and
Cordell McNamara each added three ground balls.
Abe Escarda registered 27 saves in playing the entire 60 minutes for the Pioneers.
