ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Carroll University men's lacrosse team lost to Augustana College 17-3 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin at Thorson-Lucken Field on Saturday afternoon.
It was the first conference road loss of the early season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-3 in the league standings.
Augustana, 2-2 in conference and 6-4 overall, scored nine unanswered goals in the decisive first half, including six goals in the second quarter.
Cordell McNamara contributed two goals, five ground balls and a caused turnover for the Pioneers, who were outshot 60-19 (with a 32-10 shot-on-goal margin).
Danny McGee had the final goal and three ground balls.
Zach Mehrtens collected five ground balls, two faceoffs, two caused turnovers and an assist for Carroll.
Spencer Lautner had four ground balls and
Josh Kovach added an assist.
Abe Escarda registered 15 saves and finished with eight ground balls in playing the entire way for Carroll.
Trever Moore finished with a game-high seven goals, six ground balls and two assists lead Augustana.
