WHEATON, Ill. -
Morgan Davister won the discus with a season-best distance of 44.68 meters (or 146 feet, seven inches), finished second in the shot put (12.93m or 42-5.25) and was sixth in the hammer throw (40.11m or 131-7) as the Carroll University women's track and field team placed fifth at the eight-team Don Church Invitational (hosted by Wheaton College) at McCully Stadium on Friday afternoon.
Davister, a junior from Casco, Wis. who is currently ranked No. 7 in the nation in NCAA Division III in the discus according to Track and Field Results Reporting System (TFRRS) following the break-out performance, accomplished the feat on her second attempt.
Other top-eight individual finishes for the Pioneers were:
Jamie Pankratz, second in hammer throw (48.63m or 159-6);
Vanessa Uitenbroek, second in discus (42.40m or 139-1) and third in shot put (12.33m or 40-5.50);
Alli Spitzer, third in 800 (2:22.47);
Jessica Mueller, fourth in pole vault (3.15m or 10-4);
Josie Eberle, fourth in javelin (28.55m or 93-8) and eighth in long jump (4.58m or 15-0.50);
Lexi Elegbede-Peer, sixth in 100 (12.60);
Abby Brinkman, sixth in 800 (2:29.19);
Ellie King, seventh in triple jump (9.60m or 31-6);
Megan Brisbois, eighth in hammer throw (38.29m or 125-7);
Sydney Halversen, eighth in high jump (1.42m or 4-7.75) and
Cate Gudaitis, eighth in discus (36.71m or 120-5).
The 4x400 relay (of
Victoria Watson, King,
Isabel Szablewski and
Mako Ishimoto) was seventh in 4:30.03.
