WAUKESHA, Wis. - Following its statement-making extra-inning upset of top-seeded three-time defending conference champion and No. 9-ranked North Central College in the memorable second round of the CCIW Tournament on Thursday, the fourth-seeded Carroll University baseball team plans to feed off the momentum heading into today's third-round showdown with third-seeded Millikin University.
Carroll, 22-20 overall, is scheduled to face the Big Blue in the third-round matchup at Wheaton College's Lee Pfund Stadium in Carol Stream, Ill. at 3 p.m.
The Pioneers are coming off a momentum-building 11-6 victory over North Central.
As the game remained tied 6-6 after nine innings, Carroll answered the pressure-packed challenge by responding with five runs on five hits in what proved to be a decisive top of the 10th inning, highlighted by what became a game-winning one-out RBI single by
