NORTHFIELD, Minn. -
Spencer Kirsteatter finished 20th overall in a time of 25 minutes, 16.5 seconds as the Carroll University men's cross country team placed 16th at the 28-team NCAA Division III North Regional (hosted by St. Olaf College) on Saturday.
Kirsteatter, a graduate student from Kewaunee, Wis., earned all-region honors with the strong, consistent effort in the eight-kilometer race.
Austin Sanderfoot followed in 99th (26:44), Charlie Quast placed 102nd (26:46.8),
Peter Carty was 105th (26:55.6) and
Nathan Raatz was 135th (27:37.4) to round out the top five individuals in the 209-runner field for Carroll, which totaled 459 points.
Ethan Weber finished 160th (28:30.2) and
Ty Termaat was 170th (28:53.7) for the Pioneers.
The University of Wisconsin-Whitewater won the team title with 73 points, placing its top five runners within the top 30 including overall winner sophomore Christian Patzka (24:08.5).
