WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's lacrosse team picked up a 21-2 win over Marian University on Tuesday night in Waukesha.
Clara Jelacic became the only Pioneer to score 200 goals in a career with her second goal of the night.
Lexi Kaltenberg exploded for a career-high seven goals, tying for third-most in a game in Carroll history.
The Pioneers (1-1) bolstered 31 points on 21 goals and 10 assists. Kaltenberg's seven goals and three assists are the second most total points (10) in a single game in Carroll history. Jelacic and
Katrina Hardin added six and five points, respectively. Jelacic picked up a game-high eight ground balls and caused five turnovers with eight draw controls. The Pioneers led the draw control category 20-6.
Alicia Van Dale picked up the win allowing just two goals with two saves.
The Pioneers scored six goals in just over five minutes to start the game. Kaltenberg scored twice in under a minute while being assisted by
Mina Zastrow on the first of the night. Marian scored their first goal on a free position shot with 4:27 left in the first quarter, but Carroll added on to their lead with Jelacic's third of the night. Kaltenberg got on the board first in the second quarter, boosting the Carroll lead to eight. Kaltenberg scored twice more in the quarter and assisted on two more Pioneer goals.
Carroll hit the 15-goal mark with 8:49 left in the third quarter Kaltenberg's second free-position goal of the night.
Janu Patel assisted and scored a goal to help push the Carroll lead to 17 by the end of the third. Kaltenberg assisted

th goal of the night, and Kaltenberg hit her seventh goal with 1:12 remaining in the game.
