ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - The Carroll University men's tennis team lost to Augustana College 9-0 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet Sunday.
It was the second conference loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-2 in the league standings and 1-8 overall.
Augustana, 1-1 in conference and 3-9 overall, won five straight-set singles matches en route to the home-court victory.
Ben Pierson, a junior from Janesville, Wis., fell to Augustana's Jesse Dyer in a competitive battle at No. 4 singles 6-2, 6-0, dropping his individual season record to 5-7 overall.
It was a rough day for the Pioneers, who managed to win only six games in the challenging head-to-head matchup.
