WAUKESHA, Wis. -- The Carroll University men's track and field team competed in the first weekend of last-chance meets to increase their numbers before the season concludes in next weekend.
After day one of the St. Francis Fighting Chance meet in Joliet, Illinois,
Spencer Kirsteatter and
Kyle Adams posted times of 14:49.90 and 16:07.74 in the 5000-meter race, respectively. The men's 4x400 team comprised of
Peter Marra,
Trenton Nickel,
Zach Benes, and
Nathan Raatz finished with a time of 3:18.97.
On day two, Nickel and Raatz both put up times in the 400-meter dash. Nickel finished in 49.88 while Raatz finished in 50.96. In the 400m hurdles, Marra posted a time of 55.07 in the event, finishing fifth.
At the Gregory Invite hosted by North Central,
Steven Hermsen and
Jimmy Hinkley competed to improve their marks. Hinkley finished with a top throw of 56.20 in the hammer, finishing close to where he did last weekend at conference. Hermsen in the hammer finished just behind Hinkley with a 54.85-meter toss. In discus, Hermsen finished second overall with a throw of 51.18 meters. In shot put, Hermsen tallied a long mark of 15.04 meters.
