Katie Jensen contributed a team-high 15 kills as the Carroll University women's volleyball team outlasted Luther College 25-23, 20-25, 18-25, 25-18, 15-10 in a five-set dual at the Luther Invitational at the Regents Center on Saturday.
It was the fourth five-set victory of the season for Carroll, which finished with a 3-0 record on the confidence-building two-day road trip while improving to 7-8 overall.
Grace Perret followed with nine kills, three service aces and three assists.
Peyton Frost collected eight kills and
Alianiz Rivera-Rosado had three aces.
Maggie McGough registered 26 digs and
Cora Riffle added 28 assists for the Pioneers, who generated 45 kills, 14 aces, 65 digs and 41 assists.
Carroll led 12-10 in the decisive fifth set before responding with three consecutive points to ensure a victory.
During the key run, Carroll earned the initial point as the result of a bad Luther set followed by a kill from Frost and victory-clinching ace by Rivera-Rosado.
Jensen, who was named to the all-tournament team, combined for 40 kills in the Pioneers' three-victory tournament run.
Luther dropped to 4-10 overall.
