WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team lost to Augustana College 25-21, 15-25, 26-24, 25-20 in a College Conference of Illinois-Wisconsin dual meet at Van Male Field House on Friday night.
It was the fourth four-set loss of the season for Carroll, which dropped to 1-6 in the conference standings and 13-13 overall with the Senior Night effort (honoring the lasting contributions of
Kaitlin Gawelski,
Ashley Konecki,
Katie Jensen and
Lindsey Diep).
Gawelski finished with a team-high 15 kills and 15 digs to lead Carroll, which combined for 49 kills, six blocks, five service aces and 48 assists. Jensen followed with 10 kills and three blocks.
Konecki contributed nine kills and
Peyton Frost had eight kills for the Pioneers, who generated double-digit kills in three sets highlighted by 14 kills in claiming a second-set victory.
Maggie McGough collected 17 digs,
Taylor Raley had 13 digs,
Rebekah Andreae registered four blocks, Diep had three service aces and
Payton Depies added 43 assists.
Emily Schipper finished with 16 kills and 19 digs for Augustana, which improved to 4-3 in conference and 19-5 overall.
