Metamora, Ill. -- The Carroll University women's golf team finished fifth overall in the CCIW Championships today. The Pioneers finished with a 1040 (+92) over the course of three days in the tournament.
Tessa Lawson came into the tournament as Carroll's number one golfer and proved why as she led the Pioneers through all three days. she is tied for 28
th place and first on the team after shooting 88 for the final round. The freshman was able to obtain seven pars and one birdie on the final day of play.
Marisa Boehler was the number two golfer for the Pioneers and finished with a 92 on the final day of play to allow her to finish tied for 32nd. Lauren Lostetter in finished in 36
th shooting 93 to round out the tournament. Both Boehler and Lostetter were able to achieve four pars in the final round of the Championships.
Maddie O'Brien came into the day as the Pios number four and finished second best on the team in the final day with an 89, giving her the 30
th place finish.
Shaelynn Feuerstein scored a 95 to finish 40
th. To wrap up the Pios scoring after round one
Lynea Sekany shot a 99 to come in tied at 42nd.
This wraps up the women's golf traditional season with a very respectable fifth place finish in the always competitive CCIW. Congratulations to the women's golf team on a great start to their 2023-24 season.
