LISLE, Ill. – Carroll University women's golf wrapped up play at the Edgewood Fall Invite on Monday, finishing sixth in the team standings out of a competitive 14 team field with a combined score of +108 over two rounds.
The Pioneers posted a Round 1 score of +59, but followed that up with a stellar +49 in Round 2, improving their consistency across the lineup. This improvement helped them pass conference foe Elmhurst in the standings on day two and vault them into the top half of the invite.
Tessa Lawson led Carroll with a two-day total of +23 (167), which brought her to an 18th place finish individually. This comes on the heels of Lawson's first place finish at the WLC Quadrangular last Friday, as she is peaking at the right time.
Gabby Hauser followed in 26th place at +27 (171), while
Emily Brokl carded +30 (174) to finish 33rd.
Lauren Lostetter finished at +32 (176) in 37th place, and
Lynea Sekany added a +41 (185) for 49th.
Grace Knilans also competed as an invididual and finished in 56th place with a two-day total of +45. The play across the board showcased the Pioneers depth, with all players finishing within striking distance of each other.
The Pioneers showed resilience in a competitive field that featured strong performances from Lake Forest and St. Norbert at the top of the leaderboard. Carroll returns to action on October 6th-8th at the CCIW Conference Championships, their last match of the fall. The Pioneers will look to finish out the fall season on a high note.
