ROCK ISLAND, Ill. — The Carroll University women's golf team posted a strong two-day showing at the Women's Vikings Invitational, finishing third out of nine teams April 25–26 at Highland Springs Municipal Golf Course.
Carroll opened the tournament with a team score of +44 on day one, placing itself firmly in contention, before carding +55 on day two to close the event at +99 overall and secure the third-place finish.
Individually, Scarlett Lindgren led the Pioneers with a two-round total of +20, shooting 78 (+6) in the opening round followed by 86 (+14) on day two, which was good enough for a ninth-place individual finish for her. Lauren Lostetter was close behind at +24, recording rounds of 83 (+11) and 85 (+13).
Lynea Sekany finished at +29, posting 85 (+13) in round one and 88 (+16) in round two, while Tessa Lawson turned in one of the team's most consistent weekends with rounds of 86 (+14) and 84 (+12) to finish +26.
Gabby Hauser capped the tournament at +46, shooting 92 (+20) in the opening round and 98 (+26) on day two, and Emily Brokl, competing as an individual, finished at +30 with rounds of 85 (+13) and 89 (+17).
With balanced scoring across the lineup, Carroll's third-place finish marked another solid performance as the Pioneers continued their spring season against a competitive field. They now turn their attention to the Carthage Spring Invite that is tomorrow, which will finish out the Pioneers spring season.
