Pioneers finish 2-0 at Edgewood Triangular

Carroll showcases determination and consistency in successful confidence-building road trip

MADISON, Wis. - The Carroll University women's volleyball team finished 2-0 in the Edgewood Triangular at the Todd Wehr Edgedome on Saturday, defeating Concordia University Wisconsin (31-29, 30-28, 22-25, 27-25) and Edgewood College (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 25-11).
Carroll, which has claimed four, four-set victories this season, improved to 10-11 overall with the strong, confidence-building road performance.
Katie Jensen combined for a team-high 25 kills in the statement-making back-to-back victories for the steadily improving Pioneers.

vs. Concordia Wisconsin
Jensen contributed a team-best 14 kills in the hard-fought opening-round effort versus Concordia University Wisconsin.

Kaitlin Gawelski followed with 13 kills, 25 digs, three service aces and an assist for the Pioneers, who generated double-digit kills in all four sets including a team-best 20 kills and .183 hitting percentage in the critical opening set victory.

Rebekah Andreae finished with 10 kills and four blocks for Carroll. Payton Depies had 48 assists, 19 digs and two blocks with Maggie McGough adding 20 digs and five assists.

After dropping the third set, Carroll showcased its resilience and determination by rebounding with a gritty 27-25 victory in what proved to be a decisive fourth set.

Tied 25-25, the Pioneers responded to the pressure-packed by regaining the lead on a kill by Ashley Konecki followed with a match clinching ace from Gawelski.

vs. Edgewood
Peyton Frost finished with a team-leading 15 kills in the spirited finale against host Edgewood. Jensen collected 11 kills and eight blocks with Konecki collecting nine kills.

The Pioneers continued to showcase their progress and consistency by generating double-digit kills in all four sets, highlighted by 10 kills, one error and dominant .429 hitting percentage in the victory-clinching fourth set.

Taylor Raley registered four aces, Rebekah Andreae recorded 10 blocks, McGough had 21 digs and Depies added 45 assists.
