WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll led from start to finish Tuesday night in a non-conference battle against Beloit College, defeating the Buccaneers by a score of 68-49. The Pioneers scored 33 points off 32 Beloit turnovers, while also scoring nearly as many points in the paint (40) as Beloit scored in the entire game (49).
Natalie Gricius got Carroll (3-0) off to a good start by drilling a 3-pointer to break a scoreless tie. After Beloit's Hannah Welte answered with a jumper, Carroll would then score the next eight points to take an 11-3 advantage, before leading by a 20-11 margin at the end of the opening quarter.

Natalie Palzkill finished the scoring in the period with a layup in the final minute to give Carroll a 37-23 lead at intermission.
The Pios would lead by double digits for the entirety of the second half, taking their largest lead of 19 on a jumper by Gricius. For the third time in three games this season, Carroll held a rebounding margin of +9 or higher, out-rebounding the Buccaneers 46-36, with 16 of Carroll's 46 boards coming on the offensive end of the court.
Gricius led all scorers with 19 points, to go along with nine rebounds, two assists, and two steals. Palzkill also narrowly missed a double-double with 10 points, eight boards, and four steals.

Emilie Wizner each finished with nine points.
Beloit was led by Welte's 28 points, as she converted 9-of-20 shots, including 5-of-7 from 3-point range, while also making 5-of-6 from the free throw line. Elizabeth Kalk added six points and seven boards, while Hadja Bayo led all players with 12 rebounds.
Carroll will face their biggest test of the young season on Saturday when they'll travel to ninth-ranked UW-Whitewater. That contest will begin at 6 p.m. in Whitewater, Wis.
