RIPON, Wis. – The Carroll University men's indoor track and field team collected 93 team points to finish in third place at the Dick Hendricks Invite hosted by Ripon Saturday afternoon.
Nathan Raatz,
Peter Carty, and
Steven Hermsen all won their respective events.
In track events, Raatz took home the title in 400 meter race, coming in with a time of 50.71 in the fifth heat.
Peter Marra added four team points with a fifth-place finish in the same event. Carty won the mile with a time of 4:28.58, followed by
Spencer Kirsteatter who finished in fourth in the race.
Kevin Lind finished in fourth in the 60m final, and Charlie Quast added three points from the 5K race. The Pios ran two DMR squads that finished second and fourth, and the 'A' 4x400 team finished seventh.
In field events, Hermsen won both the shot put and weight throw. Hermsen and
Jimmy Hinkley finished first and second in the weight, while Hermsen,
Will Campbell, and
Brady Reusser added top eight marks in the shot put. Lind added a fourth-place finish to the triple jump on his afternoon, jumping 12.70 meters.
The Pioneers return to the fox valley next weekend, February 18, visiting the campus of UW-Oshkosh in the Titan Challenge.
