Men’s Track and Field Take Fourth at Carthage

KENOSHA, Wis. – The Carroll University men's indoor track and field team collected 104 team points on their way to a fourth place finish at the Tadd Metzger Invitational on Saturday afternoon on the campus of Carthage College.
 
In track events, Peter Marra sprinted to an easy victory in the 55-meter hurdle dash with a time of 7.92. Kevin Lind grabbed two silver medal finishes in the 55-meter dash and the 200-meter dash. Carter Ratcliff added team points in the 55-meter, while Peter Marra helped out in the 200-meter. Nathan Raatz and Ethan Weber tallied six team points combined in the 800-meter, while the long distance group of Spencer Kirsteatter, Peter Carty, and Charlie Quast combined for 18 points.
 
In field events, Steven Hermsen recorded two season-best distances, both good for second place in the shot put (15.60) and weight throw (18.64). Brady Reusser, Jimmy Hinkley, and Will Campbell all contributed to the team point total in the two throwing events as well. TJ Fullilove finished third in the triple jump, and fifth in the high jump. Also in the high jump, David Burgess added eight team points with a second place finish.
 
The Pioneers head back up North to Ripon College next week Saturday Feb. 11.
