BIRMINGHAM, Ala. – Steven Hermsen of Carroll University men's indoor track and field finished his indoor track career on Saturday, with a 10^th-place finish in the 2023 NCAA DIII Indoor Track and Field National Championships shot put event.
 
Hermsen, a graduate student from De Pere, Wisconsin, started the event in the first flight and landed a 15.79-meter throw in his three attempts. As the second flight worked through, Hermsen was one spot away from qualifying for finals.
 
Hermsen finishes his indoor career as a two-time All-American in the weight throw, a four-time national qualifier, and owns both indoor throwing records in the weight throw and the shot put.
