HILTON HEAD ISLAND, S.C. - The Carroll University men's tennis team defeated Bethel University 6-3 in a nonconference dual meet at Hilton Head High School on Wednesday.
It was the final dual of a confidence-building Spring Break trip for Carroll, which completed the road effort with a 2-1 record and improved to 9-3 overall.
The Pioneers were powered by four victories in the singles flight.
Ryan LaBelle won at No. 2 singles to help lead Carroll, outlasting Bethel's Luke Wyly in three sets 6-1, 4-6, 10-7.
LaBelle, a freshman from Mukwonago, Wis., improved to 9-3 in duals and 10-4 overall.
David Eman (No. 3),
Jack McCaffery (No. 4) and
Layton Carls (No. 4) each followed with a straight-set victory.
Eman and McCaffrey combined for a victory at No. 2 doubles (8-6). Carls and
Luke Barter won at No. 3 (8-5).
