Hallman Marks 10 Points in Pioneers’ Win

WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University women's lacrosse team took it to the Concordia Wisconsin Falcons on Wednesday night, coming away with a 20-7 victory. Rebecca Hallman scored 10 points for the offense, scoring eight goals and assisting twice. Clara Jelacic pulled down 14 draw controls as well.
 
The Pioneers (7-2) exploded for nine goals in the second quarter, pushing Carroll to a ten-point lead at one point during the first half. Carroll racked up 44 shots with 30 attempts on goal. The Falcons recorded 10 saves while Rebecca McDaniel tallied five on 16 shots faced. Carroll went 16-20 on their clear attempts and forced 22 Falcon turnovers. Carroll recorded six free-position shots, leading to three goals for Katrina Hardin.
 
The Falcons were the ones to strike first on the night after two Pioneer turnovers. Hardin scored the equalizer after a shooting space call, but CUW quickly rebounded. Hallman scored her first of the game to bring it back to 2-2, and she never looked back. Hallman scored once more that quarter and assisted on Jelacic's goal to give Carroll a 4-3 at the end of the first quarter. Hardin opened up the second quarter with another free position goal, as Carroll ripped off nine unanswered. Hallman scored three times with one assist, Jelacic scored three times, and Lexi Kaltenberg got two assists in the quarter.
 
Up 13-4 to start the second half, Hallman scored in the first 20 seconds to put the Pios back in running-clock territory. Hallman scored three more times to put her at eight goals for the night. The Falcons picked up three more goals between then and the final buzzer, but Carroll answered with three of their own in the third quarter as well.
 
The Pioneers will stay at home and face Wisconsin-Eau Claire on Saturday, March 25 at 7:30 PM.
