WAUKESHA, Wis. –
Clara Jelacic of the Carroll University women's lacrosse team set a new NCAA Division III women's lacrosse record on Wednesday evening, recording the most career ground balls in the history of Division III. Jelacic's 388
th career ground ball in the second quarter was one of many the rest of the game in the win over CCIW foe Elmhurst, 21-1. Jelacic scored a season-high seven goals, 13 ground balls, nine caused turnovers, and had 20 draw controls.
The Pioneers (10-2, 2-0 CCIW) put up 11 goals in the first period and scored 17 straight until the Bluejays got on the board.
Alicia Van Dale was credited with three saves and the win, while Elmhurst was forced to make seven saves. The Pios were a perfect 11-11 on clear attempts but spent most of the night on offense thanks to 22 draw controls.

Carroll will host Illinois Wesleyan on Saturday, April 15 at 12 PM in another CCIW home contest.
