WAUKESHA, Wis. – The Carroll University men's outdoor track and field team split up this week with a group traveling North to St. Norbert on Thursday, April 6, and a group heading to UW-Whitewater on Friday, April 7.
In track events at St. Norbert,
Austin Sanderfoot and Charlie Quast finished in the top five at St. Norbert in the 1500m run, with
Ethan Weber and
River Sterud rounding out the top eight.
Jacob Radovan and
Sawyer Caves were in the middle of the pack in the 400-meter dash, and the men's 4x400m relay team of Sanderfoot, Weber, Sterud, and Caves finished with a time of 3:41.40. At UWW,
Peter Marra won his 110m hurdles and 400m hurdles race for the second weekend in a row, coming in with a time of 15.43 in the finals of the 110, and 55.49 in the 400.
Kevin Lind finished sixth in the 100m dash, with a time of 11.12.
Carter Ratcliff scored team points in the 200m dash, finishing in seventh.
Nathan Raatz and
Trenton Nickel finished back-to-back in the 400m race, and
Kyle Adams gained team points in the 1500m run.
In field events,
Steven Hermsen finished first in the men's hammer throw and discus event at UW-Whitewater. Hermsen hit the 58-meter mark again, with a throw of 58.32m in the discus, and landed a new PR in the hammer with a toss of 55.03m.
Jimmy Hinkley fresh off his PR last weekend threw 51.04m at St. Norbert to win the event, followed behind by
Will Campbell,
Juan Ocampo, and
Brady Reusser. Also competing in Discus at St. Norbert were Reusser, Campbell, and Ocampo who finished first, second, and fifth respectively. The shot put squad at St. Norbert was led by Campbell with a distance of 13.45 meters to win the event. Reusser was right behind him with a 13.04m throw. Hermsen threw 15.50m at UW-Whitewater in the shot put to further his season-high mark.
The Pioneers will head to Beloit next Saturday, April 15.
