ROCHESTER, NY – Steven Hermsen and Jimmy Hinkley of Carroll University men's outdoor track and field completed their stints at the 2023 NCAA DIII Outdoor Track and Field National Championships in Rochester, New York. Hermsen finished in 10^th, while Hinkley followed up in 19^th.
 
Hermsen, a graduate student from De Pere, Wisconsin, barely missed finals after a quick start in flight one. On his first attempt, Hermsen launched a 57.07m throw to put him in third in his flight. It took a 57.12m throw to make the finals, making Hermsen the first one out.
 
Hinkley, a senior from Grayslake, Illinois, marked all three throws in his second flight. Hinkley's farthest was his first, a 54.33m heave.
