MILWAUKEE, Wis. - Carroll's volleyball team won for the fifth time in their last six matches Friday night, defeating Wisconsin Lutheran in three sets, 25-17, 25-23, 25-18. The Pioneers led in virtually every statistical category, including holding the edge in both kills (33-25) and service aces (12-8).
Kaitlin Gawelski led the way for Carroll (8-6) with a match-high 12 kills.
Katie Jensen and
Ashley Konecki added seven and five, respectively.
Taylor Raley led all players with six aces, while Rebekah Andrae and
Payton Depies led the Pios with five blocks and 30 assists, both of which were match-highs.
Maggie McGough added a match-high 11 digs, with Gawelski not far behind with 10.
Wisconsin Lutheran (6-8) was led by Lily Schuetz's six kills. Kylee Gnabasik added four aces and eight digs, while Bailey Halliburton and Emma Incaprero chipped in with three blocks and eight assists, respectively.
The Pioneers will now jump back into conference play on Wednesday when they'll battle North Central College. That match will begin at 7 p.m. at Van Male Fieldhouse in Waukesha, Wis.
