DUBUQUE, Iowa - Carroll's volleyball team stepped out of conference play Friday night, falling to University of Dubuque in three sets, 25-27, 18-25, 23-25. Dubuque finished the match with 48 kills and a .266 hitting percentage, while Carroll registered 41 kills and a hitting percentage of .224.
Payton Depies led the Pioneers (8-8) in both assists (29) and digs (14), while
Peyton Frost's 12 kills also led the team.
Taylor Raley and
Maggie McGough each recorded two service aces, while
Rebekah Andreae and
Kylie Wittnebel each recorded three blocks.
Emma Powell paced Dubuque (13-4) with match-highs of 13 kills and two service aces. Alexis Adkins added three blocks, while Ashlyn McGinnis and Morgan Hunter led the Spartans in assists (22) and digs (18), respectively.
The Pioneers will be in action again on Saturday when they'll play UW-Platteville and Macalester at 12:30 and 2:30 p.m., respectively. Both of those matches will be played in Platteville, Wis.
