KENOSHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's track and field team placed fourth in the Firebird First Invitational (hosted by Carthage College) at Tarble Athletic Center on Saturday.
It was the second indoor competition of the early season for Carroll, which finished with 59 points in the strong eight-team field.
Maria Falk was third in shot put with a distance of 12.79 meters and contributed a fifth-place finish in weight throw (14.77m) to help lead the Pioneers.
Vanessa Uitenbroek was fourth in shot put (12.76m) and fourth in weight throw (15.01m) for Carroll.
Other individuals placing in the top 10 included:
Lexi Elegbede-Peer, fourth in 200 (27.38) and seventh in the 55 (7.59);
Victoria Watson, fourth in 400 (1:09.38);
Madeline Simpson, fifth in pole vault (2.95m)(personal best);
Katelyn Duber, fifth in triple jump (9.90m);
Brooke Davies, sixth in the mile (6:03.19);
Gabrielle Holbrook, sixth in 3,000 (12:29.85);
Taylor Olund, seventh in 200 (28.00)(personal best);
Grace Tinder, seventh in pole vault (2.80m); Kaitlin Brucci, eighth in shot put (11.78m);
Sophie Hanson, ninth in 3,000 (12:44.82);
Grace Kelly, ninth in weight throw (13.54m) and
Caroline Plasil, 10th in shot put (10.43m).
Carroll's 4x400 relay team (composed of
Lucy Beuthin, Davies, Holbrook and Hanson) finished sixth (4:58.16).
