WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll men's lacrosse notched their third victory of the season Wednesday night, defeating Beloit College 13-4. Carroll's (3-5, 0-0 CCIW) 13 goals matches their season high and ties the most goals Carroll has had in a game since 2017.
Goalie Jake Gehl collected 14 saves in the contest. Six different Pioneers scored and two more collected assists on the day. Brady Mollson scored four goals and Brady Conwell collected two assists. Sophomore Jake Wright forced eight ground balls to lead the Carroll defense, while Spencer Lautner had six and Cole Phillips had five more.
Carroll kicked off the scoring with an unassisted goal from Luke Bridges just over two minutes into the game. Brady Mollson rifled his first goal of the game into the back of the net with just under nine minutes in the first period. Carroll maintained a narrow 2-1 lead after one period of play.
Beloit tied things up early in the second, before the Pioneers erupted for 10 unanswered goals from the second period into the fourth. Brady Mollson collected his fourth goal with eight minutes left and stifled any hopes at a Buccaneer comeback as Carroll defended Schneider Stadium on a frigid March day.
Carroll returns to action looking to build on the current momentum on Saturday, March 23 as they travel to Concordia University-Chicago to face the Cougars at 11 a.m.
