WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's men's tennis team defeated conference-foe Illinois Wesleyan 7-2 Friday night on the Kilgour-Trailblazer tennis courts. The Pioneers won five of the six singles matches, while also winning two of the three doubles matches.
In the day's top doubles flight, Carroll's
Adrian Gomez and
Daniel Ezcurra teamed up to defeat Ian Turnbull and Ryan McCoy by a score of 8-3. The Pioneers' number three doubles team of
Ryan LaBelle and
David Eman was also victorious, 8-6.
In singles play, Gomez won his top flight match via retirement, while Ezcurra won at number two singles, 7-5, 6-4.
Andrew LaBelle and
Ryan LaBelle were also victorious at number three and four singles by scores of 4-6, 7-5, 1-0 (10-8), respectively.
Jack McCaffery also won his singles match at the number six flight by a score of 6-1, 6-0.
The Pios (11-5, 3-2 CCIW) will be in action again on Saturday when they'll battle Millikin University. That match will begin at Noon at the Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex in Waukesha, Wis.
