Carroll Men Earn Third Straight Conference Victory

Pioneers defeat Millikin 8-1 in home-court battle; Team wins four league duals for first time since 2018, accomplishing feat for sixth time in program history dating back to 2001

Box Score WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University men's tennis team defeated Millikin University 8-1 in a College Conference of Illinois & Wisconsin dual meet at the Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex on Saturday afternoon.
It was the third consecutive conference dual victory for Carroll, which improved to 4-2 in the league standings and 12-5 overall.

The victory took on added significance as it was the first time Carroll has won four conference duals since 2018, becoming the sixth team in program history to accomplish the feat according to school records dating back to 2001.

The Pioneers, who earned their eighth home-court victory of the statement-making season and have combined to outscore their last three opponents by a 20-7 margin, took advantage of three forfeits.

Andrew LaBelle won an intriguing three-set match at No. 2 singles for Carroll, overcoming a one-set deficit to prevail over Millikin's Theodor Wolf 2-6, 6-4, 1-0 (10-4).
LaBelle, who improved to 14-8 overall, combined with Daniel Ezcurra for a victory at No. 1 doubles, defeating Wolf and Cole Phillips 8-5.

The tandem of Ryan LaBelle and David Eman followed with a victory at No. 2 doubles (8-3). Carroll's other two points came as Ezcurra at No. 1 and Felix Persson at No. 4 each registered a straight-set singles victory.

Carroll is scheduled to face intra-state league rival Carthage in a CCIW dual at the Jean Kilgour-Trailblazer Tennis Complex on Tuesday, April 23 at 3:30 p.m.
