KENOSHA, Wis. - Carroll men's tennis opened their fall season up on Friday and Saturday at the CCIW Fall Individual Tournament, giving new and old faces alike a chance to play and evaluate their games against other competition throughout the conference. 

In singles action, Carl Sandelin rebounded from an opening-round tiebreak loss in Flight 1 to earn a victory in the consolation bracket.  The Pioneers also found some success in doubles play. The Flight 1 duo of Gellein and Oback picked up a 7th place finish, recording a win in the consolation bracket. In Flight 2, 

Although team scores were not kept as part of the individual-format event, the weekend provided a strong foundation for the Pioneers as they opened the fall season. Carroll produced two singles finalists, several additional quarterfinal and consolation-round victories, and valuable experience against conference opponents that will help build momentum heading into the remainder of the fall schedule. The Pioneers will open with their first official match of the season on September 20th when they travel to La Crosse to take on the Eagles in a nonconference matchup at 9am.
