BLOOMINGTON, Ill. – The Carroll University men's tennis team saw its season come to an end on Wednesday afternoon, falling 4–1 to Augustana in the CCIW Tournament quarterfinals at Evergreen Racquet Club.
Carroll picked up early momentum in doubles play, earning two victories to take the edge heading into singles competition. The duo of Andrew LaBelle and Felix Persson secured a 6–3 win at No. 1 doubles, while Layton Carls and Ryan LaBelle followed with a 6–4 victory at No. 3 doubles.
Despite the strong showing in doubles, Augustana rallied behind its singles lineup, winning four matches to clinch the match and advance in the conference tournament.
Several singles matches were tightly contested, including unfinished battles at the top of the lineup. Andrew LaBelle split the first two sets at No. 1 singles before the match was halted, while Ryan LaBelle won his opening set at No. 2 singles before Augustana ultimately secured the team decision.
Carroll closes the 2025–26 season with notable individual growth throughout the lineup and a pair of doubles victories in postseason play. The Pioneers were led throughout the year by consistent performances at the top of the order and depth across both singles and doubles competition.
