WHEATON, Ill. - The Carroll University women's track and field team placed seventh at the 13-team Wheaton Twilight on Saturday.
Vanessa Uitenbroek placed second in the discus with a distance of 45.21 meters (148-4) and was third in shot put with 13.36 meters (43-10) to lead the Pioneers, who scored 26 points.
Uitenbroek is currently ranked third in NCAA Division III in shot put, fourth in discus and 17th in hammer throw.
Carroll's
Cate Gudaitis is eighth in the nation in discus and
Maria Falk is 38th in shot put.
Other individuals delivering top-eight finishes for the Pioneers were:
Maria Falk, fourth in shot put 13.31m (43-8);
Rebekah Buboltz, seventh in 1,500 (4:57.82);
Katelyn Duber, seventh in 100 hurdles (17.25) and eighth in triple jump 9.44m (30-11.75);
Cate Gudaitis, eighth in discus 37.88m (124-3) and
Ashley Wojciechowski, eighth in long jump 4.85m (15-11).
