ROCK ISLAND, Ill. - Carroll men's lacrosse dropped their third straight game on Saturday afternoon, losing to Augustana by a score of 11-5 in a CCIW match. It was the seventh loss on the road this season for Carroll, which dropped to 0-3 in the conference standings and 6-8 overall.
Augustana, which improved to 2-2 in league and 5-8 overall, outscored the Pioneers by a 7-2 margin in the first half including seven unanswered goals in the opening quarter. The Vikings maintained a 26-22 shots-on-goal advantage.
Brady Mollsen and
Luke Bridges each scored a goal in the first half for Carroll, with
Josh Kovach tallying an assist on the Mollsen goal. Mollsen generated six shots,
Jake Wright won seven face-off opportunities,
Brady Conwell and
Ethan Phillips both contributed seven shots and Mollsen,
Sam McGoon, and
Zachary Szuba fielded three ground balls apiece.
Jake Gehl registered 15saves in playing the entire 60 minutes for Carroll.
The Pioneers are scheduled to face Elmhurst University in a 7:30 p.m.-start CCIW game in Elmhurst, Ill. on Wednesday, April 24.
