WAUKESHA, Wis. - Carroll's softball team lost both games of Thursday's doubleheader against 20th-ranked UW-Oshkosh. The Pioneers dropped the first game 9-0 in six innings, before also falling in game two by a score of 4-0.
Game one saw UW-Oshkosh (30-2) score five runs in the top of the third, including a three-run homer to break a scoreless tie, before adding another run in the fourth on a passed ball. The Titans would end the game with a three-run sixth, which saw them record an RBI triple and a two-run homer to center field.
Carroll (11-23) finished the game with three hits, with two coming from
Kiana Johnson, which included a triple.
Kaitlyn Reed recorded the other base knock for the Pios. UW-O posted 13 hits, including three for extra bases.
In the day's second game, UW-Oshkosh broke a scoreless tie in the second inning on an RBI groundout. They would add to that lead with a three-run third, which saw the Titans smack a two-run homer and an RBI single to right field.
Carroll finished the game with five hits, with two coming from
Sydney Raddeman and the others coming off the bats of Reed,
Abby Curtis, and
Madison Palasz. UW-O recorded six hits, with two going for extra bases.
The Pioneers will be in action again on Saturday when they'll travel to Illinois Wesleyan. That doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m. in Bloomington, Ill.
