WAUKESHA, Wis. - The Carroll University women's track and field team finished fourth in the 13-team Wisconsin Private College Championships at Dennis Punches Track and Field Complex on Saturday.
Vanessa Uitenbroek won the discus with a first-attempt distance of 48.55 meters (159-3) and was second in both the hammer throw (52.39m) and shot put (14.25m) to help lead Carroll, which scored 79.5 points in the prestigious meet.
Uitenbroek's first-place distance in the discus established a meet record and was just .38 shy of equaling her own school record of 48.93m (160-6), established at the Eagle Qualifier in 2022. She is currently seeded third in NCAA Division III in both discus and shot put and 10th in hammer throw.
Other individuals delivering top-eight finishes for the Pioneers were:
Madeline Simpson, third in pole vault (3.06m);
Rebekah Buboltz, third in 1,500 (4:55.70) and fourth in 800 (2:24.50);
Lexi Elegbede-Peer, fifth in 200 (26.97);
Katelyn Duber, fifth in triple jump (10.49m) and sixth in 100 hurdles (17.32); );
Maria Falk, fifth in hammer throw (46.32m), fifth in shot put (12.41m) and eighth in discus 36.09 (118-5);
Ani Tollerud, sixth in 400 (1:02.71);
Taylor Olund, seventh in 400 hurdles (1:17.02);
Ashley Wojciechowski, eighth in long jump 4.82m (15-9.75) and
Alexandria Ostopowicz, eight in pole vault (2.61m)
Carroll's 4x100 relay team (consisting of
Taylor Olund,
Kaitlyn Gregory,
Victoria Watson and Elegbede-Peer) was fourth in 51.40 seconds.
The 4x400 relay (comprised of Tollerud,
Lucy Beuthin,
Victoria Watson and Buboltz) was fifth in 4:25.27.
