Vanessa Uitenbroek each had three attempts in the prelims, but could not find their way into the top nine athletes that advanced to the finals in the event.
Falk, a junior from Oshkosh, Wis., who was making her second consecutive appearance in the event, finished 14th in the 22-person field. After recording a distance of 13.38m on her second attempt, Falk trumped that by recording a throw of 13.59m (44-07) on her third and final attempt.
Uitenbroek, a senior from Kaukana, Wis., entered the day's competition as the number three seed, and was looking to repeat as an All-American in the event. After recording a distance of 12.75m on her first attempt, Uitenbroek's best toss came on her second attempt, with a distance of 12.75m (41-10).
Uitenbroek will finish her busy weekend on Saturday with her third event in as many days, as she'll compete in the Hammer Throw at 1 p.m. ET in Myrtle Beach, S.C.
