Carroll Swimming and Diving 2025-26 Season Preview

Carroll enters the 2025 26 season with measurable momentum and deeper championship experience on both rosters, guided by head coach Guy Gniotczynski in his sixth year leading the program, last season the Pioneers combined for six school records at the CCIW Championships and dramatically increased both A-final and B-final qualifiers, metrics that underscore program depth and training gains.

Men's Swimming Team Eyes Continued Success

The men's swimming team enters the season with a focused approach and strong recruiting momentum as it prepares for Pioneer Conference competition.

The team's strength lies in three key events where returning swimmers have established the program's competitive identity. The 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard backstroke, and 100-yard backstroke represent the core of the team's scoring potential at the conference championships.

This strategic focus on backstroke events, combined with butterfly prowess, has allowed the program to develop depth and expertise in specific disciplines. The coaching staff has built the roster around these strengths, creating opportunities for multiple scoring swims at conference meets.

The incoming freshman class matches or exceeds the strength of last year's recruiting group, maintaining the program's upward trajectory. This consistency in recruiting ensures the team can sustain its competitive approach in the coming seasons.

"We want to enjoy the meet and be as fast as we were last year," the coaching staff stated, emphasizing both performance goals and team culture.

The team's objective for the conference championships is to match the speed achieved last season, a goal that reflects both the program's recent success and its commitment to continued development. By maintaining last year's performance levels while integrating new talent, the team positions itself for sustained competitiveness in the Pioneer Conference.

As the season progresses, the men's team will work to refine its specialized events and prepare for the championship meet, where backstroke and butterfly events will be crucial to the team's final standing.

Women's Swimming & Diving Team Poised for Strong Season

The women's swimming and diving team enters the season with renewed depth and championship aspirations, bolstered by the largest recruiting class in program history and the addition of a diving program.

The team returns strong performers across seven key events heading into Pioneer Conference competition. The coaching staff expects significant scoring potential in the 400-yard individual medley, 200-yard butterfly, 200-yard freestyle, 200-yard breaststroke, 200-yard individual medley, 100-yard butterfly, and 100-yard backstroke.

"We have strong returners in all of these events," said the coaching staff, indicating the team's depth across multiple disciplines.

The addition of diving marks a significant milestone for the program, providing new scoring opportunities at the conference championships. Combined with the historically large freshman class, the program has positioned itself for substantial growth this season.

Multiple first-year swimmers are expected to qualify for and score at the conference meet, a testament to the quality of this year's recruiting class. The influx of talent provides both immediate impact and long-term depth for the program.

With the combination of experienced returners, impactful freshmen, and the new diving program, the team has set its sights on moving up in the Pioneer Conference standings this season. The enhanced roster depth across technical events and the addition of diving points could prove decisive in pursuit of those goals.

The season will culminate at the Pioneer Conference Championships, where the team aims to demonstrate the progress made through the year and establish itself as a rising program in the conference.
