WAUKESHA, Wis - The Pioneers dominated from start to finish, earning a 118–72 win on the Men's side, and a 128-68 win on the Women's side, behind strong relay performances and individual depth.
Men's
Carroll men's swimming and diving team earned a convincing 118–72 victory over Millikin in Saturday's dual meet at Waukesha, showcasing depth and versatility across all events. The Pioneers opened the meet with a dominant win in the 400 Medley Relay (3:55.59) behind strong legs from Thomas Rynne, Jacob Rossi, Gavin Buechel, and Jonah Lotegeluaki.
Distance specialist Mannon Stern set the tone in the 1650 freestyle, winning in 19:53.25 and later taking second in the 500 free (5:43.74). Rossi was a standout performer, claiming the 200 free (1:56.69) and contributing to the winning 400 Free Relay (3:34.55). Sprint power came from Jonah Lotegeluaki, who captured the 100 free in 50.28, while Buechel added a key victory in the 200 IM (2:12.42).
Additional highlights included Ben Miles finishing second in the 100 fly (59.18) and third in the 100 breast, and Rynne leading the backstroke group with a first-place finish in the 100 back (1:01.46). Carroll's depth was evident with multiple top-three finishes from Matt Brown and Paden Moore, helping secure the team win.
The Pioneers combined strong relay performances with individual excellence, setting the stage for continued success as the season progresses.
Women's
Carroll women's team delivered an impressive 128–68 victory over Millikin, fueled by relay dominance and standout individual swims. The Pioneers opened the meet with a win in the 400 Medley Relay (4:31.85) and closed strong with a first-place finish in the 400 Free Relay (4:00.04), anchored by Kendal Richard.
Distance events were a major strength, as Carigan Tabor won the 1650 free in 20:12.51 and added a runner-up finish in the 500 free (5:53.86). Natalie Oldenburg and Erin Fixen went 1–2 in the 200 free, while Richard claimed the 100 free (1:00.02) and Sharpe added a third-place finish. Sprint depth showed in the 50 free, where Clarissa Sharpe (27.53) led a Carroll sweep with Alexandria Ostopowicz and Lillian Jeleniewski close behind.
In the strokes, Erin Fixen dominated the 100 fly (1:06.42), and Morgan Toupal led the backstroke group with a win in the 100 back (1:07.54). Carroll also excelled in the 200 IM, with Kelly Gordon and Hannah Arce finishing second and third. Breaststroke strength came from Skyler Sanderson and Arce, who placed second and third in the 100 breast.
With multiple event sweeps and strong relay finishes, Carroll showcased depth and balance, setting a high standard for the remainder of the season.
