Balanced Attack and Hot Shooting Lift Carroll Over MSOE

MILWAUKEE, Wis. – Carroll University men's basketball earned a 93–80 road victory over MSOE Tuesday night at Kern Center Arena behind a balanced scoring attack and a lethal offensive night. The Pioneers improved to 3–2 overall with the win. 

Carroll led 50–37 at halftime after shooting 54.5% from the field and 56.3% from three in the opening period. The Pioneers maintained control in the second half, building their largest lead of 16 points with 5:32 remaining and never allowing the Raiders closer than six down the stretch.

Michael McNabb paced Carroll with 25 points on 8-of-11 shooting and a perfect 7-for-7 at the line, adding five rebounds. Lamar Smith contributed 18 points and nine rebounds, while Jacob Naber and Peyton McKenna each scored 15; McKenna hit five three-pointers. Carroll finished 30-of-56 (53.6%) from the floor, 13-of-28 (46.4%) from three, and 20-of-23 (87.0%) at the stripe.

Defensively, the Pioneers forced 15 turnovers and converted them into 17 points. Carroll added 24 points in the paint, 10 fast-break points, and 12 points from the bench. 

MSOE (1–3) was led by Mason Dopirak with 28 points and four assists. Chase Cummings and Jonathan Burroughs chipped in 11 points apiece. The Raiders shot 47.5% overall, 40.0% from three, and 85.7% at the line but couldn't overcome Carroll's balanced attack. 

Carroll returns to action Wednesday, Dec. 3, hosting North Park at Van Male Fieldhouse in their first conference matchup of the season. Tip-off is set for 7 p.m.
