ELKHORN, Wis. – Early Sunday morning, the Carroll Pioneers took on the Knights of Carleton in a dual meet. In doubles play, Adrian Gomez and Daniel Ezcurra claimed a thrilling tiebreaker victory, winning 7-6 (7-5) against the Carleton duo. Andrew LaBelle and Mark Trinka lost in heartbreaking fashion to Carleton's Jasper Yang and Zach Leslie 7-6 (5-7). Carroll ended dropping the doubles point in a close 4-6 loss at the three doubles position.
In singles, Gomez shined, winning 6-2, 6-3 over Baiyun Jing at the one singles position. At the number three flight, Andrew LaBelle lost his second heartbreaking match of the day by a score of 0-6, 6-3 (4-10), to Aiden Patel.
Carroll will look to bounce back on Saturday, February 15 against Wartburg at 4 p.m.
